Young Scientists TWAS AWARD 2007
The TWAS Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (TWAS-ROLAC) is accepting candidacies for the 2nd edition of the "Young Scientist Prize" in our region.
The TWAS Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (TWAS-ROLAC) is accepting candidacies for the 2nd edition of the "Young Scientist Prize" in our region.
In 2007, the prize will be awarded in the areas of Mathematics, Physics,
Biological Sciences, and Medical Sciences.
Applications must include a Curriculum Vitae, three letters of recommendation, and a description of the reasons that justify the candidacy, which must all be sent by electronic mail.
Candidates must have less than 40 years of age in 2007, with at least ten years affiliated to an institution in countries of the region. The prize is recognition of contributions made by active researchers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

February 26 and April 23, 2007. The announcement of the awardees will occur on May 15, 2007.
The prize of US$ 2,000.00 also includes a trip to Rio de Janeiro to attend the annual welcome ceremony of the new members of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, to be held on May 30, 2007.
Please note that the awardees will be making a presentation of their work in the Young Scientists Symposium that will be held in conjunction with the above mentioned ceremony, on May 29th, from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
