Public Understanding and Popularization of Science Prize - 2010
The Prize "Public Understanding and Popularization of Science” will be awarded every three years by TWAS Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean to recognize a researcher or writer who have made significant contributions to popularize Science and Technology.
The Prize will consist of a cash award equivalent to US$ 3,000.00 and a Diploma. “Special Mention” may be awarded to scientists in recognition for their important contribution in this area. In such cases, the awardee remains eligible for the prize in future years.
The candidate to Prize " Public Understanding and Popularization of Science” is responsible for his/her presentation.
The following documents are requested for a candidacy to be considered:
- Updated curriculum vitae.
- Description of the candidate’s works justifying the candidacy.
- Up to 5 significant publications by the author in this area (electronic copies).
- Registration form dully filled.
The complete set of documents must be sent in a single e-mail to contact@twas-rolac.org under the subject “Public Understanding and Popularization of Science Prize”. For proper identification, the names of all files must begin with SURNAME_first initial.
The Chair of TWAS ROLAC presides over the Prize Committee, with the quality vote.
In case the prize is not awarded, the money prize will not be accumulated for the next edition.
