| Biography | | Wanderley De Souza
obtained his MD in 1974 and his PhD in 1978. He is currently Head of Laboratory
of Cell Structure at the Institute of Biophysics, Rio de Janeiro Federal University
(UFRJ) and Rio de Janeiro State Secretary for Science and Technology. He was
previously: Deputy Director and Director of the Institute of Biophysics Carlos
Chagas Filho, Rio de Janeiro Federal University between 1986-94 and Rector of
Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (UENF), Rio de Janeiro from 1994-96. His honours include: Moinho Santista, São Paulo, 1980;
Manoel Noriega Morales, OEA, Washington, USA, 1987; and the Sendas Prize, Rio
de Janeiro, 1990. His membership
includes: Brazilian Academy of Sciences; New York Academy of Sciences; and the
Brazilian National Academy of Medicine. |
