| Biography | | Flawiá is full professor, School of Science, Univ. of Buenos Aires (UBA), and director, Inst. Of Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biology, Argentinian Natl. Res. Council. She obtained her PhD (1973) at UBA and was a postdoctoral research scientist, Wellcome Research Foundation (RTP-USA); visiting professor at Sao Paulo University (Brazil), Jules Stein Inst., UCLA School of Medicine (USA), and Dept. of Molecular Parasitology, School of Sciences, Univ. of Granada (Spain). Her membership includes: Member, Latin America Academy of Science; former president, Advisory Comittee for Biochemistry Argentine Research Council for S&T. Her awards include: Gold Medal with University degree; Bernardo Houssay Award, Recognition for Scientific Merit and Technological Transference, SECYT; Scholarship Ramón Carrillo, Ministry of Natl. Health; and Study Ctr. for the Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Award. |
