| Biography | | Dr. Santomé is
Emeritus Professor at the University of Buenos Aires and honorary Head of the
National Laboratory for Peptide and Protein Research (LANAIS-PRO). He has
achieved the highest position in the career of a Research Investigator,
National Council of Scientific and Technical Research. He obtained his PhD in
Pharmacy and Biochemistry in 1959. His honours include: School of Pharmacy and
Biochemistry Award, University of Buenos Aires, 1959; José A. Balseiro Prize,
Forum of Science and Technology for Production Award, Min. of Culture and
Education, Argentina, 1995; and the Career Achievement Award, Argentine Biochemistry
Society Association, 1997. He is a Member of the National Academy of Pharmacy
and Biochemistry and the Latin American Science Academy. |
