| Biography | | Adolfo
Martinez-Palomo is currently Director General of the Centre for Research and
Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) in Mexico City. His previous positions include:
Professor of Cell Biology and Head of the Section of Cell Ultrastructure,
CINVESTAV, from 1970-80; Head of the Section of Experimental Pathology,
CINVESTAV, from 1981-89; Professor and Head of the Department of Experimental
Pathology, CINVESTAV, from 1990-95; and President of the Advanced Committee on
Health Research, Pan American Health Organization in Washington, D.C. from
1995-97. His awards include: Karger Science Award, Switzerland; National
Science Award, Academia de la Investigación Científica, Mexico; National
Science Award, Mexican Government; and the Luis Elizondo Medicine Award. |
