| Biography | | Dr. Rezende is Professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco, and President, FINEP, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Professor Rezende has made outstanding contributions in basic magnetism and magnetic materials. He has made the prediction and also the observation of spin wave behavior in time-varying magnetic fields, chaos and nonlinear phenomena in spin waves, and coherent magnon states. He has also made the discovery of novel properties of magnetic mutilayers and nanostructures. In recognition of these achievements, he has been elected as a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and has been awarded the Great Cross of Education Merit and the Great Cross of the Order of Science Merit of Brazil. |
