| Biography | | Dr. José Luis Morán López is professor at the Department of Advanced Materials for Modern Technology of the Institute for Science and Technology in San Luis Potosi, Mexico (IPICYT). He holds a doctorate in physics from the Freie Universität Berlin (1977). Prior to joining IPICYT in 2000, he was research professor at the Institute of Physics of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (1986-2000) and professor at the Department of Physics of the Centre for Research and Advanced Study of Mexico City. His honours include: Mexican Academy of Scientific Research Award, 1985; Manuel Noriega Morales Prize in Exact Sciences, OAS, Washington D.C., 1988; C.V. Raman Prize, ICTP, Trieste, Italy, 1990. Natl. Prize of Science and Arts, Mexico, 1996. Dr. Morán López is a member of the Mexican Academy of Scientific Research, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society. |
