| Biography | | Francisco de la Cruz is A-1 Researcher at the Centro Atómico Bariloche-CNEA and Professor of Physics at the Instituto Balseiro. After obtaining his PhD degree at the Instituto Balseiro (Universidad de Cuyo) in 1968, he pursued postdoctoral work at Brown University. He returned to Bariloche, Argentina in 1971 to become professor and researcher of the Centro Atómico and Instituto Balseiro for more than 30 years. His awards include: Teófilo Isnardi, Academia de Ciencias; Chevalier des Palmes Academic, French Goverment; Ricardo Gans, Universidad de la Plata; Premio Konex Platino, Fundacion Konex; and the Premio Fundación Bunge Born a la Ciencia in 2004. He is Fellow of the APS and IOP, member of the Academia Nacional de Ciencias and of the Academia de Ciencias Físicas y Naturales in Argentina and Foreign Member of the US National Academy of Sciences. |
