| Biography | | Dr. Bunster was educated in the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Chile and at Princeton University where he obtained his PhD in 1973. He is Director of the Centro de Estudios Científicos in Chile; Long-term Member of the Institute of Advanced Study at Princeton; Professor of Mathematics at the University Chile; and Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee for Scientific Matters, Chile. His previous positions include: Associate Professor and Professor of Physics at the University of Texas, Austin; Assistant Professor of Physics and Research Associate at Princeton; Consultant to the UNDP, Physics in Latin America; and Member of the Committee on Mathematical Physics of the International Union Pure and Applied Physics. His honours include: Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship; Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship; and the Premio Nacional de Ciencias Exactas, Chile. |
