| Biography | | Carlos Alberto Aragão de Carvalho obtained his BSc (Physics) in 1973 and MSc (Physics) in 1976 at the Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC/RJ). He obtained his PhD (Physics) at Princeton University in 1980. He is currently Professor of Physics at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He was previously: Research Associate at CERN from 1980-81; Chercheur Associé du CNRS at the University of Paris XI, Orsay from 1981-82; and Assistant Professor from 1982-85 and Associate Professor from 1985-93 at PUC/RJ. He was awarded the Medal, Brazilian National Order of Scientific Merit in 1998. He is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. |
