| Biography | | Dr. Guidão Gomes was educated in São Paulo, Brazil, and Paris. He obtained his Doctorat d’Etat in Physical Sciences in 1967. He is: Full Professor at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas (CNPq) in Rio de Janeiro; Visiting Professor in the Laboratorio de Magnetismo, Departemento de Física, Universidad Fed. de Santa Maria, RS; and Visiting Professor in the Laboratorio de Resistividade, Instituto de Física, Universidade Fed. do Rio Grande do Sul. His previous positions include: Sec. General, Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC); Coordinator, Ecology and Biodiversity Project, ABC; Member, High Council, Natl. Research Council; Asst. Prof., Faculté de Sciences d’Orsay; “Attaché de Recherches”, Ctr. Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS); Conference Prof., CNPq; and “Chargé de Recherches-6”, CNRS. He has been awarded the Knight of the Natl. Scientific Order. He is a Member of the BAS. |
