| Biography | | MOURA NETO, Vivaldo (Brazil). b.28-12-1945. Dr.d'Etat en Sciences Naturelles, Professor, Department of Anatomy, UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In recent years, Moura Neto and his team have provided compelling evidence that neurons are able to induce reorganization of glial extracellular matrix and to promote the synthesis of glial cytoskeletal proteins upon interaction with these cells. These findings could offer new therapeutic insights to brain diseases. A full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and foreign corresponding member of the Societe de Biologie (France), he was honoured as the Commander of the National Order of Scientific Merit of Brazil. |
