| Biography | | Dr. Inestrosa was
educated at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile where he obtained his
PhD (Biological Sciences, 1979). He is Professor of the Molecular Neurobiology
Unit at the Pontifical Catholic University in Santiago and was Head of the PhD
Programme. His previous positions include: Visiting Professor in Biochemistry
and Biophysics at UC San Francisco; Visiting Professor in Pharmacology at Case
Western Research University in Cleveland, Ohio; and Visiting Professor in
Neurobiology at the Weizmann Institute of Sciences in Rehovot, Israel. His
honours include: Bernardo Houssay Award, Argentine National Research Council
(Society of Biology); Presidential Chair in Science Award, Republic of Chile;
and the Guggenheim Fellowship. His membership includes: American Association
for the Advancement of Science; Biochemical Society (London); and the Japan
Society of Cell Biology. |
