Pasantes-Morales obtained her MSc in the School of Chemistry at the University
of Mexico in 1970 and her Doctorat d’Etat ès-Sciences at the University of
Strasbourg in 1973. She is currently Emeritus Professor in the Department of
Biophyiscs, Institute of Cell Physiology at the National Autonomous University
of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. Her previous positions include academic
appointments at the National Autonomous University of Mexico since 1963 and
Visiting Professorships in France, the USA and Denmark. She has been awarded
the “Premio Univ. Nacional” for research in natural and exact sciences in 1991
and the Premio “Maria Lavalle” for research in natural and exact sciences in
1997. She is a Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, the European Society
for Neurochemistry, the International Society of Neurochemistry and the
American Society of Neurochemistry. |
