| Biography | | Dr. Dutra de Oliveira
received his MD from the University of São Paulo in 1951. A full professor for
internal medicine and clinical nutrition at the Medical School of Ribeirão
Preto, he served as dean of the Medical and Nutritional Sciences Schools in
Ribeirão Preto. He has also been collaborating actively with the Dept. of
Medical Clinics since 1955. He was founding director and president of the
Brazilian Symposium of Food and Nutrition Foundation, and president of the
International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS). His honours include:
Rockefeller and Pan American Health Org. Research Fellowships; Medal, Brazilian
Fedn. of Nutritionists; Honor al Merito, Latin Am. Nutrition Soc.; and Soya
Prize, ExpoSoja, Brazil. He has been recognized by the Brazilian Soc. of
Parenteral and Enteral Studies, Brazilian Soc. of Food and Nutrition and
the Portuguese Food and Nutrition
