| Biography | | George Norris
Melville obtained his PhD from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Mona,
Jamaica in 1972 and his MD at Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany in 1977. He is
currently Professor of Physiology and Dean of the Facult of Medical Sciences at
UWI in St. Augustine, Trinidad. His previous positions include Professor and
Head of the Department of Physiology at UWI from 1978-85 and Founding Professor
and Head of the Physiology Unit and Vice-Dean of UWI, St. Augustine, from
1985-88 and 1989-93. His membership includes: New York Academy of Sciences;
American College of Sports Medicine; European Society of Pneumonology; European
Society for Respiratory Medicine; American Physiology Society; and the
Caribbean Academy of Sciences. |
