| Biography | | Dr. Krieger obtained
his MD from the University of Rio Grande do Sul, in 1953 and his PhD in 1959 at
Riberão Preto, São Paulo. He is currently Professor of Physiology in the
Hypertension Unit of the Heart Institute, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He
is also Chairman of COSTED and Co-Chair of the InterAcademy Panel on
International Issues, 2000. He was previously Assistant Professor, Full
Professor, and Chairman of the Department of Physiology at the Medical School
of Riberão Preto, University of São Paulo from 1957-85. He is a Fellow of the
Brazilian Academy of Sciences and was President of the Academy from 1992-97. |
