| Biography | | Dr. Caicedo is a Professor at the Departament of Mathematics of the Universidad de los Andes and Associate Catedra Professsor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá. A dedicated researcher and respected teacher, he has been responsible for the development of the field of mathematical logic in Colombia, and continues his excellent work on the model theory of extensions of first order logic, on implicit connectives of formal logics, and on quasivarieties. A Fellow of Academia Colombiana de Ciencias Exactas, Fisicas y Naturales, and of the Academia Ciencias de America Latina y Caribe, he has won the Colombian Academy's prize for the sustained work of a scientist, the Universidad Nacional Medal of Merit, and the Colombian Mathematical Society Prize. |
