| Biography | | Clovis Gonzaga obtained a DSc in Systems engineering and computer sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1973, and did a postdoc at UC Berkeley, in 1976. He worked as a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro until 1994 and then moved to the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianópolis, south of Brazil, where he is now a Full Professor of Mathematics. He has received the Comendador, Brazilian National Order of Scientific Merit, 2002 and the Citation classics prize, ISI, for the most cited paper by a Brazilian mathematician in the 1990's. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. |
