| Biography | | Dr. Camacho Manco completed his undergraduate studies at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Lima, Peru and obtained his PhD in Mathematics from UC Berkeley in 1971. He is the Director of the Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the President of the Scientific Council of the Instituto de Matematica y Ciencias Afines (IMCA) in Lima. His honours include: Brazilian National Prize for Science and Technology, 1996; Honorary Professor from the Universidad Católica, Peru and the Universidad de San Marcos, Peru; and Honorary Doctorate from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, Peru. He is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. |
