| Biography | | Alberto Verjovsky Solá was educated at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, obtained his MSc in 1968 and his PhD from Brown University in 1973. He is currently Research Scientist in the Department of Mathematics at the Université de Lille, France. His previous positions included: Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Centro de Investigación del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), Mexico City, 1970-86; Invited Lecturer at the Institute for Advanced Studies, Princeton, 1973; UC Berkeley, 1974; Toronto University, 1976; Northwestern University, Illinois, 1978; Université de Lille, 1979, 1988; City University of New York, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986; University of North Carolina, 1983; University of Texas, Austin, 1984; University of Maryland, 1984; and the Université de Genève, 1988. He was the Coordinator of the Mathematics Section at ICTP, Trieste, Italy from 1986-93. |
