| Biography | | Professor Galvele has
worked extensively on the mechanism of intergranular corrosion of
aluminum-copper alloys and on the pitting of metals. His most important results have been on the mechanism of stress
corrosion cracking. He is currently Director of the Institute of Technology
'Prof. J.A.Sabato' and Professor of Metallic Corrosion at the University of San
Martín, Argentina. His awards include: W.E. Whitney Award, NACE, USA; Evans
Award, Institute of Corrosion, UK; and he was made Hon. Fellow of the Institute
of Corrosion, UK, in 1999. He is a member of the Academia Nacional de Ciencias
Exactas, Fisicas y Naturales, Argentina. |
