Biography
Dr. Ospina was educated at UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley in Civil Engineering. He is President of Ingetec S.A. (Consulting Engineers, Bogotá, Colombia) and Executive Secretary of the Colombian Committee on Large Dams and the Colombian Committee on Tunnels. His previous positions include: Vice President, International Committee on Large Dams from 1967-70; Chairman, Disputes Review Board of the El Cajón Dam, Honduras from 1980-85 and the Ertan Dam and Power Plant in China from 1992-00; and Member, Disputes Review Board of the Katse Dam in Lesotho from 1994-99. His awards include: National Engineering Prize, Colombia, Sociedad Colombiana de Ingenieros (twice); and Comendador, Orden al Mérito Julio Garavito, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Colombia. His membership includes: Academy of Engineering, USA; American Society of Civil Engineers; and Intl. Committee on Large Dams.
