| Biography | | LUCENA, Carlos J.P. (Brazil). b.30-9-1943, PhD, Full Professor, Departamento de Informatica, Pontficia Universidada Catolicado Rio de Janeiro, Gavea, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lucena, along with Dr Maibaum, generalized the concept of abstract data type suitable for modelling situations containing multiple levels of functionality. The underlying algebra has been developed and applied successfully in many instances. A fellow of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Lucena has won 5 awards from IBM Corporation, the C.C. Filha Medal of Brazil, and has been a Guggenheim Fellow. |
