Biography
Dr. Robinson was educated in India and the UK. He obtained his BSc from Birmingham University in 1956 and PhD from London in 1969. He is Professor of Geology at the University of the West Indies and Courtesy Professor of Geology at Florida International University. His previous positions include: Lecturer, Reader, Professor, and Head of the Department of Geology at the University of the West Indies from 1961-81; Director of Stratigraphic Studies, Robertson Research (US) Inc. from 1981-84; Adjunct Professor at Rice University, Houston; and Adjunct/Visiting Professor at Florida International University from 1987-90. He was awarded the Norman Manley Award for Excellence in Science, Jamaica and the Silver Musgrave Medal for Science from the Institute of Jamaica. He is a Member of the British Micropalaeontological Society, American Association of Petroleum Geologists and AGID.
