| Biography | | Dr. Lalor is
Professor of Chemistry at the University of the West Indies (UWI) and Director
General of the Intl. Ctr. for Environmental and Nuclear Sciences. His previous
positions include: Honorary Research Associate, Harvard, 1966; Reader in
Chemistry, UWI, 1968; and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, UWI, 1974-96. His awards include:
Inst. of Jamaica Centenary Medal; Commander, Order of Distinction; Special
Award, Jamaica Society for Scientists and Technologists for the Development of
Science; Gleaner Annual Honour Award; Order of Jamaica; Sir Philip Sherlock
Award for Excellence; Gold Musgrave Medal; and the Norman Manley Award for
Excellence. His membership includes: Jamaica Society of Scientists and
Technologists; Caribbean Academy of Sciences; Cuban Academy of Sciences; Royal
Society of Chemistry; American Chemical Society; and the American Assoc. for
the Advancement of Sciences. |
