| Biography | | Dr. Baran was
educated at the University of La Plata where he obtained his Licenciado
(Chemistry) in 1964 and Doctorate (Chemistry) in 1967. He is: Full Professor of
Inorganic Chemistry, University of La Plata; Member of Research Career,
National Research Council, Argentina; and Investigador Superior. His previous
positions include: Asst. and Assoc. Professor, Univ. of La Plata; Visiting
Professor in Bielefeld, Germany, Madrid, Spain, and Cali and Bogotá, Colombia;
and National Representative of Intl. Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry
(IUPAC). His awards include: Rafael A. Labriola Prize; Konex Foundation
Platinum Prize; H.J. Schumacher Prize, Natl. Academy of Exact, Physical and
Natural Sciences, Argentina; and Cincuentenario Prize, Natl. Academy for the
Advancement of Sciences, Argentina. He is a Member of the Natl. Academy of
Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, Argentina. |
