| Biography | | Dr. Arvia was
educated at the University of La Plata where he obtained his Licenciado (1951)
and Doctorate (1952) in Chemistry. He is Professor Emeritus at the University
of La Plata and President of the Academia Nacional de Ciencias Exactas, Fisicas
y Naturales, Argentina. He was
previously: Professor of Chemistry, University of Buenos Aires; Visiting
Professor, University of America and Europe; Member, National Research Council,
Argentina; and Full Professor and Director of INIFTA, University of La Plata.
His awards include: Chevalier des Palmes Académiques, France; Science Prize,
Argentinian Scientific Society; Bunge Born Prize; and the Pergamon Gold Medal,
International Society of Electrochemistry. His membership includes: Academy of
Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, Argentina; Latin American Academy of
Sciences; and Academy of Sciences of the Canary Islands. |
