| Biography | | Dr. Sahade obtained his PhD in Astronomy in 1943. He is Faculty member of Astronomy and Geophysical Sciences at the University of La Plata, Argentina, and Emeritus Researcher, Argentina National Research Council (CONICET). His previous work includes research and teaching at American, Canadian, European and Latin American universities and directing the Córdoba and La Plata Observatories, IAFE and CONAE. His awards include: R.P. Platzeck’s Prize, Argentina; Plaque of Recognition, NASA; Dr. h.c. from the Universities of Córdoba and San Juan; the Asteroid (2605) 1974 QA named Sahade by IAU as well as Argentine 2,15 m telescope and Tegucigalpa Astronomy Meeting Hall. His membership includes: Science Academies of Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Colombia and Latin America; Associate, Royal Astronomical Soc. London; and was Vice Pres. (1967-73) and Pres. (1985-88) of COSPAR, IAU. |
