| Biography | | J.R.P. Parra is the
Dean of the College of Agriculture (Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de
Queiroz”), University of São Paulo (2003-2006). He is Full Professor of the
Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology and Agricultural Zoology at that
Institution where he has been working since 1974. He has been honored with
several awards including the Frederico de Menezes Veiga award, granted by
Embrapa, The National Order of Scientific Merit and Scientific and Technological
Merit Medal granted by the Government of the State of São Paulo. He is member
of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Throughout his career, he has advised 46
theses (Master's) and 34 dissertations (PhD's) of researchers from several
states of Brazil and abroad and published around 200 papers in entomological
journals. |
