| Biography | | Dr. Siqueira is
Senior Researcher and Professor of Soil Microbiology at the Federal University
of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil. He has led research on soil microbiology and
agricultural biotechnology with emphasis on the role played by the arbuscular
mycorrhizal fungi in nutrient depleted and degraded/polluted soils in tropical
agriculture. He has served as a member of national committees on science,
technology and education and as research pro-rector at UFLA. His awards
include: Excellence in Graduate Studies, University of Florida, Gainesville;
University Research Merit, UFLA; Premio Santista 2000, Agricultural
Biotechnology in Brazil; Antonio Secundino Medal for Distinguished Fellow by
the Governor of Minas Gerais State; and distinguished scientist, Colombian
Coffee Association and FertiBio, Brazil. He is a Member of the Brazilian
Academy of Sciences. |
