| Biography | | Dr. Paterniani is one
of the most important names in Brazilian agribusiness. He has gained extensive
research experience in the genetic improvement in maize. At the Superior School
of Agriculture Luiz of Queiroz (ESALQ), he was Head of the Department of
Genetics, Director of the Institute of Genetics and Coordinator of the Course
of After-Graduation in Genetics and Plant Improvement. He also served as a
consultant for EMBRAPA, member of the Technical Advisory Committee and is a
founding member of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo. His
honours include EMBRAPA's Frederico Menezes Veiga Prize and the Supreme Cross
of Brazil's National Order of Scientific Merit. |
